Five out, weather was not as bad as predicted, a bit of rain over the tops
but not cold. Dry and warm in the valley's and fairly dry trails all the way
around. No mechanicals and fairly good views with a little murk evident over
the tops.
22miles in 5hrs and the sun even started to come out at the end.
... Top banana !
On the down side, it's sad to report some of the better parts of this ride
have been totally devastated by logging, namely the sublime single track
approach to Spithope Bothy and the final superb climb along the Border
County Ride to Coquet Head and also the cafe/garage at Byrness is now
closed, (although the cafe at Rochester is even better) ... thanks to Tom,
Steve G, Kev and Emotionalonthehills (Andy F) for racking up, I thought I'd
be on me tod having seen the forecast Saturday night, really enjoyed the
ride and top marks to Emotional for not being too emotional and getting
round with good grace and skill. ...
Cheers 4now / Gav.
