Powburn Circuit
I woke on Sunday morning to the sound of rain, Willie then decided that he had man flu!!. So the kind soul that I am , I decided I would lead the ride (well I was told I was to lead the ride).
Arriving at Powburn services i was greeted by Michelle and Graham, a quick cuppa in the cafe was taken . By then Kev and Arthur had arrived. So that was 5 muddybums out for the day. We left just after 10-00am traveling up to the kennels, where we discarded the rain coats for the rest of the day, yes it had indeed stopped raining.
Turning left we followed the bridle down through the ford. A very short tarmac section to Harehope Hall, where we then had to look for the hidden bridle. That was when 5 bums disappeared into the vegetation along a very sweet single-track, and then down to Harehope.Travelling up onto Eglingham moor and then turning left at the cattle grate we made our way up to the coppice of trees, the ground was supprisingly dry for the amount of rain we have had.
Kev was out to show some more of his double toe loop salko`s, where Michelle was there to do some bog snorkeling. We headed down to the tarmac turning left for a short time , back off road we made our way up to Blawearie where lunch was taken. Off we set down to Old Bewick then across the road to New Bewick, through the fields we were ( Graham was!! ) chased by a flock of sheep, i think they misstook him for one of their own as he does like his white accessories!!. We then retraced our bridle back to the cars. A very short but sweet ride . Coffee, tea and tea cake were taken in the cafe.
Watch out for Arthur , he is flying on his new bike . I think he will even give Willie a run for his money :-)
Thanks to you all for turning out
